The Perfect Red

Finding the perfect sexy red nails for the winter!

Something about a fresh set of red nails in the winter is just unbeatable!! It's the perfect combination of sexy and classy; so much so that we've named it "sexy red"! I personally am not the biggest fan of the bright; tomato red, so my go to in the winter seasons is a deeeeeep cherry red, almost brown, that'll compliment my skin tone but still make a statement.

For years I was using the Maybelline Superstay Nail Polish in 06 Deep Red. It's drugstore so it's affordable, and honestly a great deep red! My only kwarm is the longevity. For something named superstay, you'd expect it to you know...stay! But no. On the other hand, it also states to only last 7 days so I can't really complain lol.
When I finally came to my senses, and realised polish I could physically PEEL OFF was no longer okay, I discovered the Chanel Le Vernis in shade 153 Pompier. Now, you know how much I loveeeee Chanel! Honestly, you'd think I built the brand with my bare hands, but I promise this is the real deal! 153 is quite literally perfect in every way. Spending 30 odd pound on a nail polish isn't really ideal but you really do get what paid for. If of course you're a lot smarter than me, I'd definitely stick with the Maybelline one, because the colors are so close but again, you get what you pay for!
Having only started my BIAB journey at the start of this year, I didn't have the opportunity to test my sexy red yet. I thought it'd be hard to achieve; that I'd have to find a red BIAB color, or dreadfully go back to acrylics for the winter. All my worries went away when my amazinggggg nail tech @cee8beauty, pulled out the most beautiful red I've ever seen! Vina Gel Polish in shade 46 is game changing. It's the perfect red to burgundy ratio, matches my skin tone very well and the gloss is everythingggg. Of course 90% of the results are down to the preparation and work done by the fabulous Chlo!! (She's the best xx) but Vina 46 is still brilliant!
